Which English?

Is Throw me down the stairs my shoes a good English sentence?

The answer depends on where you live. Many people in Newfoundland find that sentence perfectly grammatical.

By taking this quiz, you will be helping train a machine algorithm that is mapping out the differences in English grammar around the world, both in traditionally English-speaking countries and also in countries like Mexico, China, and India.

At the end, you can see our algorithm's best guess as to which English you speak as well as whether your first (native) language is English or something else.

Sweaty Sock?

Taff?

Finnish? What, I'm a rally driver now?

Might be interesting to answer the quiz as Yoda:

To the shops Sunday I be going

And one final comment - an English test conducted by them thar Americanos?

Well, ok, they have been speaking it now for a fair few years (and secretly I have to admit many of the changes they made make a lot more sense but of course I'll never admit that in public ;) )

Is that politically correct in these modern time?

No.

So all the more reason :D

Disclaimer: Mr Stomp has always referred to our woad wearing friends as sweaty socks, it's just an affectionate cockernee term wot we use, 'k? His floppinship also recognises the great contributions Fingal McTravis and his haggis loving chums have made to worldwide technology.

Furthermore I've spent time working, travelling and studying in the land of the tartan wearing heathens and I can declare that the majority of the ginger-bearded laddies I met were jolly nice fellows.

With a prediliction for pints of heavy tis true, but that just meant we had another thing in common.

There's only two things that baffle me - the almost maniacal support for either Rangers or Celtic and..... The Proclaimers

Wow, almost the same as Flops and we're from different ends of England. :D

Can't imagine we speak alike. :D But maybe we are related to Urmas.
