I am just trying to share a printer on one of the machines. They can "see"
and ping each other but when I try to navigate to the machine it tells me
that I do not have access to the machine and that I might not have
permissions. I have turned off the firewall stuff and turned on simple file
sharing.

Seems weird that I can ping and see but not share.

Thnanks,
Scott

You are not alone
I think we are having the same problem only dif is that I can ping other
PC's on the network but they cannot ping my address
see below "Unable to browse the network"

Did you share and name the printer which is attached to the computer
on that computer? You should have an add printer path similar to
\\computername\printername in my case \\Good\hpdeskje

From Network Places(view other computers in the workgroup) or
Network Neighborhood when I expand the ComputerName I see
a shared folder and a printer (named) as available resources.
One step in the process was enabling use
Netbios over TCP-IP rather leaving the default setting.
No spaces in the computer names and I don't know if that
applies to printer names but I took no chances.
