those zany, collapsable menus

I have just spent ½ hour on the knowledge base trying to figure out how
to make Excel and Word (especially) drop down menus to not go 1,2,3,down
arrow, but list every element.

Any advice gratefully appreciated.
 
In word, go to the TOOLS menu then CUSTOMIZE then OPTIONS. There you have
checkbox to keep "full menus".
Same thing for Excel.
 
Hi,
Right click in the menu bar, choose customise.
In Options, choose Always show full menus.
