I am trying to save and open Cannon video clips which were saved to a DVD
which was burned from a computer with Vista but now am receiving errors that
it does not recognize the thm extension. Any ideas on how to fix or why it
is not recognizing the videos?

Searching the internet for the extension thm shows that this is a video clip
thumbnail.
Canon camcorders are one source of such files.
Perhaps Canon can supply a program which can deal with files of this
extension.
Thus, you need Canon software on your computer to read these files.

..thm files are not the video clips themselves. The clips should be .avi
files. When a Canon camera produces an .avi video file it also produces a
companion .thm file containing a thumbnail image. The canon camera requires
this, most Windows video applications don't, but if you have installed a
specific Canon application it may require the .thm file. These usually are
not associated with any application.
