I am using IE7, but it was working fine until a week ago. I have to use

If you are referring to the Microsoft Public Newsgroups, use a real
newsreader, not the cheesey web interface.

You can use Microsoft Outlook Express, Firefox's companion called
"Thunderbird", or a variety of other applications.

Once you have acquired the application of choice, the news reading account
should be set as follows:

server = msnews.microsoft.com
logon = anonymous

And if neccesary, punch a hole in your firewall for outgoing TCP port 119.

If you are using IE 7, you have a problem, because the current version of IE
is 6.

Instead of using the web interface try using a newsreader. XP comes
with one, Outlook Express, though there are other good ones, pay and
free, out there as well. Here is a link on how to setup Outlook Express
to access newsgroups:

Otherwise issues specific to IE7 should be directed to the Internet
Explorer newsgroup.

Excellent link. I am SO tired of telling users how to read news. You just
saved me from countless silly conversations!

You're welcome. Michael did...lol. I'm sure he's glad it's useful for you.
