I can't believe Microsoft has replaced an excellent program with a clear
interface with this... thing.

There is this dumb message stating my definitions haven't been updated that
won't go away no matter how many times I update.

Then, more importantly, I'm not being told if it's finding any spyware.
What a piece of junk, the old one at least told you your system was clear.

In my opinion M$ should forget about antispyware technology. It hasn't
got the knowledge or expertise and it is trying to operate in a
non-monopolistic market.

Controlling Windows and Office packages is one thing but trying to
control another product in which one hasn't got the expperience or the
motivated staff is completely another thing.

WD is crap and it has been a beta product for nearly 1 year now. There
is no sign of this product becoming a Gold Standard in the near future.

Yes I agree. The UI is too simplistic. If the computing Community, as a
whole, are to educate themselves, MS will never achieve anything by
retaining the initiative and deciding what is good for the individual rather
than letting them decide. The whole approach is wrong. There almost seems to
be an air of arrogance to the approach in which the MS policy would dictate
they have the devine right to decide what is best for the computing community
- bit like Tony and George in the world political arena. During the past
year, people have learnt fast and what better way than by experience - good
and bad? But at the end of the day, they must ultimately have the right to
choose - not MS.

Hey Kev, I think your needle is stuck. (This is the third identical
response I have read in three different threads.)
Much as I agree with your underlying message, you are beginning to
sound like an e-parrot.
