This NG is getting useless

Walter R.

This NG is inundated with postings from kooks. Most of those posts show
multiple postings to other news groups.

There used to be a small, free program that locked out all NG postings that
were cross-posted to more than two newsgroups.

Would anyone remember the name of this program?

Place: !delete Xpost %>3

in the score file. Your choice on the number...

Thank you, Dave. That's exactly what I was looking for.

Watching some of these NGs is like visiting an insane asylum.

Most of Usenet fits that description.

That's Entertainment!

But bad "entertainment". Why the name/OnTopic of this ng is
alt.comp.anti-virus? Should be better a.c.private-flame,
a.c.private-war, a.c.un-mature, a.c.full-quoting, a.c.bandwidth-wasting
etc..

What newsreader are you using? Most will filter on number of groups.

Most will also show headers too if requested so you don't have to ask
questions which have already been answered.

Or did you mean "Weebl"......that one is Laura's favourite.....and
mine!!

I love Weebl. But not Bob. I don't like Bob. He's such a wuss. Or
wanker, as Weebl refers to him. ;-)

Point taken. I find it so tedious to have headers on that I quite forget how much info's in
there.

Hi, I am using Outlook Express 6. Could you recommend a better, free,
newsreader?

SuperGravity, PAN, etc...

Pan is open source and works well, but SuperGravity is a MUCH better free
product. If you pick PAN you need to download the supporting modules to
allow it to run on a Windows OS.

How do you get this program to install under xp?
I get the "not a valid win32 application" error.

Nevermind:) Just renamed the exe to a zip and it then could be run after extraction.
How about an example of how to make a filter to stop crossposters?
