i notic that the edit question or edit reply opens a pop up ( new window )
with the edit text area to use.

on the windows xp sp2 ie sp 2 , the pop-up text edit window never appears.

added info, these to computer were created fresh from a blank hard drive
with a new holigram windows xp sp2 DVD i got with the purchase of a new
proccecer, motherboard , and a new XP licence.

Assuming you have never used XP with SP2 before, try this: Look to the top
of the IE browser frame. You will probably see a message that says something
to the effect of "some content blocked" or "Pop-up windows blocked." This is
an SP2 feature that you may disable if you wish, but it does come in handy in
some places.

To temporarily allow blocked pop-ups or other content, right click on the
notification bar, choose "temporarily allow pop-ups/blocked content." You
can also add this site to your "always allow list" (or something to that
effect) so that you do not have to mess with the issue in the future.

If you really want to turn it off altogether, in IE go to Tools -> Options
-> Privacy Tab and un-check the "Block Pop-ups" tab.

Otherwise, if this is not your issue, I am of no use :(

Have a great day!

this problem seems to have cleared up ,
the question i have is , when adding "support.microsoft.com" to the allow
popups,
is a reboot required if there are 7 users
