This Newsgroup - Server 500 errors - Anyone else?

Hi there,

I Google my way into the newsgroups because I have no need for porn
and I use a relatively new wireless ISP called Woosh, and they dont
have newsgroups.. yet.

With this newsgroup and this group only, i keep getting (1 in 5)
server 500 errors on the post. Sometimes the post goes thru other
times it just disappears.

Is anyone else experiencing this in this group?

Do you get the 500 when reading from or when posting to the group?

Don't underestimate the benefits of porn :-) Ok I'm kidding but uhhh what?
Your ISP could flat out refuse to forward newsgroups that wouldn't stop
anybody from connecting to a newsgroup server on the Internet. Think of
these things as "publications" which you subscribe to. Unless something
very odd is happening it would be like suggesting that you can't get U.S.
News and World Report delivered to your home by the U.S. Post Office.

The messages are stored in databases on various servers. If your connection
is bad or messages are late or lost (Herfried please note) you connect to
another server that does a better job.

Yeah if you mean in 1989 :-) I use Google for historical messages but I
can't imagine using it for the daily feed. It takes a while for the
messages to appear there.

Get a newsgroup reader (despite what anybody might say Outlook Express works
good enough) and try to connect directly to the microsoft server.

Hi Thanks for your replies.
I get them only when i post in answer to some ones question. I thought
maybe a time out or something but i get them even when i rattle one
off.. "Gateway 500" rar rar. And you cant hit the back button to
retreive it either.

Unfortunately im stuck with my Googling the groups for now. My only
other option is to go back to dirty old dialup or use a somewhat a
monopolistic telco, Telecom for DSL... and if you dont mind me saying
"They Can Stick It Up Theirs!!".

Im completely wireless with Woosh so i can sit in the park and still
work. Its all good... except for those 500 errors. Its not a big deal,
just means I dont contribute as much as i would otherwise like.

If its just me then thats cool. Just checking....
