lost in vista

this is what i see when i try to doanything on excel or word does anyone know
how to fix this or why its happening?
 
Hi,

when you say anything? Can you choose Print Preview? Can you scroll? Can
you format a cell to bold? Can you select a cell? What exactly is anything?

Have you checked to see if the worksheet or workbook have protection on?

Tools, Protection
if either UnProtect Sheet or Unprotect Workbook are on you may want to turn
them off.

Is this a Shared workbook - look at the Excel title bar.
