I'm not sure if this is the right news group for this, but get this. I just
installed 4GB of RAM, bumping the system memory up to 6GB and I'm getting
all sorts of video display problems all of a sudden.

I'm running:
OS Name Microsoft® Windows VistaT Ultimate

Look in the motherboard manual for info regarding type of memory and
configuration in the slots.

According to the manual, the CAS latency should be the same for all sticks.
Also, the two banks should hold equal memory amounts, so should be 2 + 1 ..
2 + 1.

You may also benefit from a BIOS upgrade assuming that there is a later BIOS
update available..

Hi Mike,

In addition to Mike Hall's post, you might be better off upgrading to 8GB
rather than 6GB thereby ensuring that ALL memory modules are identical in
size as well as speed.

Hi Dwarf

I've Vista Home Prem. I had 4Gb ram in, ASUS board, Nvidia 8800GT, and a
Quad 2.4Mhz CPU. Score of 5.2
However, after reading your post, I purchased a further 4Gb of RAM (Exactley
same cas etc & make) and after updating the index, it returned a score
of.......5.3!
Vista recognises only 4Gb of RAM, (the Board however reports 8.04Gb RAM)
I've updated ALL drivers including Vista. Please, if you have any suggestions
for me I would be very grateful!

The 64bit version of Vista Home Premium can use more the 4GB of RAM the 32
bit version can not.

Yeah, I knew that. In the post I read he didn't specify, so I assumed it
was the 32-bit version. Maybe I didn't read high enough up the thread.

Hi All
Looks like I was taken in! ;-o
Thanks for everyones advice.
Anyone want 4 Gb of ace memory :-)
