this is a dumb question but i have to ask

i just got a new laptop and when i browse over the internet, all the images
(gif, jpg etc) on the web sites are fuzzy - i tried resetting and adusting my
screen resolutions, but that doesn't seem to work. how can i make the images
on websites clearer?

You should only run your laptop at it's Native Resolution.
It will also depend on the type of screen you have, and whether your video
card drivers and settings are correct.

How do you connect to the Internet? If you use dialup, see if you are
using some sort of "accelerator". Earthlink and AOL both have one; IIRC
one of them is called "Top Speed" or the like. You can turn off the
"accelerator".

These "accelerators" give the illusion that your dialup connection is
really faster than it is by compressing the images. Your dialup
connection isn't really faster, you are just downloading less data.

hello and thank you for your reply. i'm connected to my broadband provider
(cable) so I am not using any dial-up accelators. do you have any other
ideas or suggestions?
