hello,

now that I have xp-sp2, I have this horrible "information bar" that
blocks all harmless Javascript in my browser. I have tried turning it
off by the security options changes recommended but it seems to keep
doing it.

(I use Dreamweaver to design web pages, and it's mainly on the
"preview" function of DW, in pages that have JS calls)

please let me know if there's any reg hack that can nuke yet another
annoying, cumbersome "gift" from bill gates & co.

Ricky, that's the ticket, mah man. However, now I fear that my little
pc is a bit more vulnerable to "unfriendly scripting" on hostile
websites. I try to avoid "hostile websites", but those script kiddees
out there are smart, and downright vicious.

Is there any other secondary protection that a person might apply to
their computer to prevent this? can firewalls prevent scripting?

thanks again!

Not sure about firewalls but I run Norton Anti-virus 2003 Professional
and it has script blocking. It will prompt you whether you want to
authorize the script or not. You can also go to internet
options..advanced tab and uncheck the 2 enable install on demand
boxes.
