I have just recently purchased a new computer with a
registered copy of the Windows XP Home Edition operating
system. I have been trying to install the drivers for a
Pacific Imaging device, Model 1800U that worked well
under the Windows 98 SE operating system. When I installed
the Drivers that came with the product, following the
procedures according to the manual that came with the
model 1800U scanner. Everything appeared to go well. When
I tried to acquire and scan a picture through my Adobe
Photoshop version 7 like I had done under Windows 98 SE
hundreds of times before it came up with two dialog boxes
(1) cannot find TVICHW32 Driver, (2) cannot find ASPI
LAYER Driver has open error. I have downloaded a Pacific
Imaging device update software package which is supposed
to work with Windows XP and still have the same problems
showing up and still no use of the 35 mm slide scanner.
Does XP allow the use of third party hardware and device
drivers or do we have to purchase new hardware that have
your windows identification/logo on the product.
