Think I might have a virus

Although previously smooth-running, now I am constantly
confronted with non-responsive programs. The latest was
freezing up of my Roxio CD Creator on my Compac 5400. I
will attempt to record data and suddenly the program
freezes and won't respond. Then suddenly the computer
reboots......I am not too computer-literate but I've
noticed that Symantec has been informing me of a trojan
horse that it has isolated but cannot remove. What can I
do? Thanks!

Where does Symantec say the virus is located?
System Volume Information?
System Volume Information is the system Restore data.
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.
