Hi,
I have an AMD Athlon 64 bit cpu. I recently purchased the above
cooler for the cpu, not realizing that it seems to be for the Opteron.
Is it still possible for me to use this thing with my cpu or should I
try to get a replacement?

Works with all AMD S939/940 & S754 motherboards, go for it!
