I currently have Access 2002 and my operating system is
Windows XP. I am trying to print four different
documents (reports and/or forms) in Access.

Under Control Panel, I have my default printer set to
HP2100. This is the printer that all my files go to
(including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Access is the
only one where the "default printer" option won't work.

One report gets printed on a network printer that we no
longer have hooked up to our office. It is at another
office down the hall. The printer is not even listed on
my list of printers, but for some reason, it still gets
printed down there.

Another report gets printed on the correct printer.

The third report says my default printer is my desktop
printer, HP 5550, which is sitting on my desk. When I
try to actually print the report, it won't work. It
still goes to the printer that is no longer in our office.

For the rest of the reports, I get this error:

There was a problem retrieving printer information for
this object. The object may have been sent to a printer
that is unavailable.

Please do not instruct me to change my default printer in
Control Panel. I tried that, and it is set correctly to
the HP2100, but all my Access reports still print to the
wrong printer.

Please don't ask me to go to "Page Setup" to deviate from
the default printer, because, yes, it works, but only
temporarily. Once I log out of Access and log back in,
it goes right back to being wrong.

Any help you could give me, I'd greatly appreciate!!!.
Thanks so much!

The service patches for Access 2002 have addressed some printer issues, so
you may need to check if you Serivce Pack 2 installed. Choose About from the
Help menu. If it does not say: Access 2002 SP-2, go to
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=307841
and download the patch.

Before you do that, you may want to open the report in *design* view, and
choose Page Setup from the File menu. Make sure it's set to the Default
Printer, not to a Specific printer. (I wasn't sure you had done that in
design view.)
