This error message turned up after 18 months of successful use of BCM. I
followed help instructions to add a user to the BCM group but it didn't help
at all. I couldn't find any other solutions. Any ideas?

Restore from backup perhaps?

Is MSSQL$MicrosoftSmlBiz running in (Start, Run, Services.msc, OK)

Are you running a BCM V2 update with the current service packs?

Hi Lee

Go to services.msc and check if you can start the MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM or
MSSSQL$MICROSOFTSLMBIZ services. If you encountered any problems starting the
service the issue is becasue of an SQL problem. To overcome this issue go to
control panel and uninstall BCM and MSDE ,once this is done browse to
C:\Program Files\MSSQL and rename the same to MSSQLOLD.Then reinstall BCM

Hope this helps

I had rebooted my system three times yesterday to see if I could get a
resolution, and the same problem persisted. But, when I started the system
this morning, the error did not occur and BCM was working just as before. Go
figure! I can't.

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions. I think I'll leave well-enough
alone, unless someone from MS wants more info.

I think I've figurd out the cause of this problem. I am running Zone Alarm
Security Suite and if I run Outlook BEFORE Zone Alarm has fully settled down
after booting the system, the connection problem occurs.
