There is no object in this control

One of my users gets the message "There is no object in this control" when he
opens an Access database. I can open it fine on my laptop. I have tried
deleting the database and adding it again. I've ran updates to windows and
office. I ran the detect and repair utility in Access. So far no luck. Any
suggestions?
 
A quick search of the MS KB turns up a number of articles on this error
message. This may be a good place to start:
