Themes - Different Versions of XP?

D

Dr. Hall

My new computer with Windows XP Pro had some really neat
desktop themes (Country type photos). A new (I hope)
replacement was sent to me, but those additional desktop
themes are not on this computer. Does Windows XP Pro have
different themes in different versions? Did I get an
older version on my replacement computer, or did I get a
refurb the first time that somebody else had loaded on
additional desktop themes?

As far as I know, there is no difference between the visual
styles and themes that come with XP Home and XP Pro.

The themes that came with your computer probably came from
the manufacturer. I know that when my friend bought his
computer, the first time that Windows loaded up, it asked
him if he wanted to use the default XP theme or theirs.

If you want to find more themes, go to www.themeXP.org.
From there you can find all kinds of wallpapers and themes
to your heart's content. You can also get StyleXP, a theme
switcher program. I think that version 2.0 is shareware,
while 1.0 is now freeware (don't take my word for it though).

Hope this helps,

Nick

There are quite a few sits you can download additional themes for Windows
XP.

There's www.xpthemes.com as well as www.wincustomize.com.

If you want to add more visual styles/themes to Windows XP you can use
WindowBlinds (http://www.windowblinds.net) which is the only Microsoft
certified way to add more visual styles and is the program Microsoft has
used to provide additional visual styles to Windows XP (Age of Mythology,
Xbox, etc.).

Does anybody know of a theme site that DOES NOT require the purchase of
bulky, third-party installers? There MUST be someone who can create
themes in the original MS format. ;-Deano

.

ThemeXP V1.0 is freeware now. You can set it so that it
doesn't use any additional system resources when you're
running another theme.

Hope this helps,
