Just wondering if there is a way to set a theme to be the default. I am not
using any 3rd party stuff, just want to set the screensaver, background, and
color to have all workstations match. I have reinstalled a few systems and
set the admin account the way I want them but when I add a user it is back to
the luna theme. I have done several searches and seen some rather
complicated ways to do this but hoping someone here will know how some basic
steps to accomplish this.

Thanks,
Mike

That article is helpful. I now have my .theme created. Is there a way to
have this auto installed at login instead of having the user load it. I am on
a domain and have a script run as each user logs, if I could add it there
that would be great. This was the original problem, when a new user logs in
it always defaults to the luna theme but I would like to have it set to my
custome theme? Or is there a way to have windows 2000 server force it down?
Not sure if that is possible.

Thanks,
Mike

I think a simple way would be to create a new limited account, configure
your theme and windows settings and then log into an admin account. Go to
the profile directory of the newly created user and copy the NTUSER.DAT
file to the default user account. You can then delete the limited account
you just created. When a new account is created, the settings should be
copied at the first logon.

Thanks, that sounds like what i want. Can I copy that same NTUSER.DAT to all
default user account of all my workstations or do I have to set up each
workstation and copy the file from the same system?

You should be able to use the same ntuser.dat across all workstations.
Just make sure that any custom theme files you have are also at the same
location on each machine. If you do run into a problem on any particular
machine, you can always create and copy a new ntuser.dat on that system.
