Is there a way to create your own .theme files? What software would I need?
Can I import/insert my own images?

Hi Wendy,

You can use the "Save As..." function in Display Properties to create .theme
files. You can save your current theme, or configure new themes, with
different wallpaper, sceensavers, styles, backgrounds, etc., and name the
..theme files as you see fit, in a folder of your choosing. (*.theme files
can be read in Notepad, and edited that way, too, once you familiarize
yourself with its structure).

Dean-Dean, thx for your help, I tried the "Save As.." but it will only calls
up files that are .theme files. It appears I have to already have them
created. I tried to rename some jpg files I have, but that didn't work. Any
other suggestions.

I 'm apparently not grasping your question. If you are wanting to change the
background picture for your desktop, go to the Desktop tab of Display
Properties, choose the "Browse..." button, and navigate to where you store
the picture that you want to use (by default, it opens the My Pictures
folder). Once you have chosen a picture, by double-clicking on it, you can
choose to have it stretched, tiled, or centered, under "Position". You can
choose the background color, if the picture doesn't cover the whole screen,
with "Color". When you're done, click on Apply. To save that setup, go to
the Themes tab, and save the theme as, say, Cat Picture Theme.theme, and then
click on OK (by default, it saves it to My Documents). You can repeat the
process for other pictures. You can then double-click on Cat Picture
Theme.theme or Dog Picture Theme.theme, to switch to the desktop background
that you want, rather than always having to go through Display Properties.
