Theme corrupted--how to fix?

Sam

I've been happily using FP2002 to publish and make
changes to our web site for several months, but I
suddenly lost all theme elements (e.g. bullets,
horizontal lines, navigation buttons, etc.). I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling server extensions using my
host's control panel software, but that didn't help.
Everything looks fine on my local copy, but even if I
tell FP to publish everything, it doesn't fix the problem.

Should I delete everything from my host's server and try
republishing everything, or is there some other way to
fix this? Does File->Publish... include hidden folders
like _borders and _themes when it publishes? If not, how
do I get those to be correct on the server?

Thanks!
Sam

Try Recalculate Hyperlinks on the public Web site.

If that doesn't do it, try Recalculate Hyperlinks on your
local copy, then publish everyting, determining changes
by comparing the source and destination webs. If
FrontPage advises of a conflict, overwrite the file on
your public Web site.

If that doesn't do it, try removing and reapplying the
Theme on your public Web site.

Thanks for the reply! I just tried your suggestions and I
still don't get any of the navigation buttons or theme
elements.

You can see the site at www.dreamscometrueinvitations.com
It is supposed to have the standard Poetic theme with nav
buttons along the left side and top.

Do I need to ask my web host to do anything like reboot
the web server, or ???

BTW, I did this by opening the public site in my FP
client and did the Tools->Recalculate...I removed and
reapplied the theme by selecting "no theme" and applying
to all pages, and then selecting "poetic" and applying--
was that what you had in mind?

When I'm working directly with the public site in my
local client, do I still need to publish or does this
directly modify the public copy? Do I need to do a Save
All in this case--it wasn't obvious that any files had
changed.

Thanks again!

Have tried applying a different theme to see if that works?

Sam,

The server doesn't have any theme, they come from your local install of FP.
So it sound like the Poetic theme is corrupt, but to be sure, re-apply it.

The only solution would be to re-install FP using the custom install and
make sure to select everything or use a different theme.
