my problem is that i used to use a program called window blinds on my
desktop pc, i recently uninstalled the program after selecting the classic
theme wicth i thought was a system preset. it now however seems that this is
not the case and now i have uninstalled the program i can't switch back to
the original windows xp theme, i can switch to themes that i have installed
after i recieved the system and before i installed windows blinds however i
can't switch to any system presets.

i was wondering if you guys could give me any help and a way to solve this

i have been looking around the help desk and found this article

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;883391

however iam unsure as to weather this will work and do not wish to risk
anything untill i know that it is safe to do so

Following the instructions in the MSKB article cannot do you any harm, as
you are putting in the normal defaults. Please try what it says, as it can't
leave you any worse off.

Hi,

Go to Start/Administrative Tools/Services/Themes. Set to Automatic.

Also check your settings here:

Start/Administrative Tools/Services/Terminal Services/Log On. At the bottom
ensure that Hardware Profile Original Configuration is Enabled.

If the above doesn't apply/nor help:

Only windows Classic is listed under Appearance:

1. Right click on the desktop and choose Properties.
2. On the Theme tab, choose the Windows XP.
3. If this option is missing, you may choose Browse... to
C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Luna.theme
4. The Luna.theme is the theme of the Windows XP.

If Luna.theme is missing: Go to Start/Run/Msconfig/Expand Files:
Luna.MS_ and Luna.TH_
