theme and background change

switched on pc today and instaed of my usual backgroound it was balck with
writing on bottom right corner saying that my pc is in danger as windows
security has detected spyware/adware infection. Have all latest security
downloads and the windows beta spyware program and latest antivirus
program.Do scan and nothing detected but now cannot change my background.
Nothing applied and when go into display cannot view any background changes
in desktop. Also there is a red circle with an x keeps poppoing up saying
computer in danger when nothing wrong.Can anyone help? Thank you
 
Youre computer has been infected by spyware that is trying to get you to buy
spyware programs on the net. Dont do anything they tell you to do,

Unfortunately i dont know how to remove them. try restoring your computer
using system restore
 
I once had this problem too, it is a nasty spyware that tries to
convince you that your computer is infected. It eventually then tells
you to buy their software, which doesn't work and constantly detects
false positives. I don't remember exactly which one it was, but a
combination of Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, and AVG free managed to get rid of
it. if those do not work, try downloading the free trial of Webroot
SpySweeper or Ewido.
 
Do you know of the specific program it's trying to make you install? If
it is "WinAntiSpywarePro", you may have a version of the VERY tough to
remove Look2Me virus. I recommend visiting Merijn.org, they have a huge
collection of specialized free apps to get rid of specific hardy
malwares.
