First, make sure if the "Show Pictures" option is turned
on in Advanced tab
of Internet Options.
If it is already on, refer this MSKB article:
Pictures Are Not Displayed on Web Sites in Internet
Explorer

This problem is also seen in computers where Norton
Internet Security
Ad-blocks is turned on.
have discovered that if I...
- Turn auto-select off
- refresh the page
- Turn auot-select back on
The page automatically refresehes and the pictures are
showing. However, if I refresh the page again or link to
another page, the problem comes back and I have to re-do
the fix procedure.
In IE 6 go to view then encoding & select western
european
(windows) you'll be able to view web sites normally, I
haven't figured how to make this a default setting in IE6
if you figure it out send me a message otherwise you'll
have to set the view type manually each time you launch
IE6.

To change the file format and extension, such as a bmp to
a
jpg, open the file with the appropriate program and use
the
"save as" command and the drop-down menu to change the
file
type. This works to change photos or documents such as
WORD
to a WordPerfect format or an Excel spreadsheet to a
different program type, or a universal format.
