Bo

I'm extremely suprised that MS has such talent people who can design so
stupid software. It's easy to design a bad software. But it's extremely
difficult to design the worst software.Fortunately,MS has done!!!

Hi,

In my estimation, everyone who participates in this newsgroup would agree
that Word could be better and that not everything that MS has put into Word
is the best thing for everyone. I myself am here trying to help folks like
you who run into problems with Word to solve their problems and use Word to
do what they want it to do. If you have a specific problem, please tell us
about it. If you want help in performing a task, just ask. There are many
highly experienced and talented people who will read your post and make every
effort to help you. I would like to believe that we are the good guys. Let us
try to help you.

Hi Bo,
Try "Formatting Legal Document...Word 2007" by Jan Berinstein, Phd. and Sue
at Word-Tips.com don't blame those on this website. they are very helpful.
... and you'll get (most of it) after all if you have enough time and money
you can put a man on the moon!
As you can see by the previous replies, you will not get anything changed.
The MVP persons are ossified, they have a vested financial stake in the
matter and are technocrats and love this plutocracy (the rule of a society by
its wealthiest people) But this is a democracy (that is, 2 wolves and a goat
voting on what is for dinner). The bottom line is that what can you expect
from a monopoly. Obviously it’s your fault, and the fact that, in paragraph
if you designate centered, the text comes out 3.03" or 2.53" inches from the
left margin, is just your fault, and you should know that if you designate
Left, it will center the test. (They've had many years to get that right, and
might even figure it out someday)
There will be a fix someday, but you will have to speak Chinese cause that
is where is will be from.
But what do you expect from a Monopoly? ..I said that already didn't I?
Do you remember when the railroads taxed everything moving everywhere?
No..sorry, the Feds busted the trust. O, how about when Rockefeller
(Standard Oil Company) controlled all refining and shipping of crude oil!!
May be not either, they got broken up too. We need Teddy back (No not the
Kennedy, Roosevelt)
Maybe OBama can think about breaking up Microsoft too, but I'd settle if he
would breakup the major Health Insurance Companies from 5 to 10 and maybe we
could by foreign prescription drugs (they might be more competitive, but we
don't want that...its competition) ..I wax quixotic.

The left edge of centered text will be the same distance from the left
margin as the right edge of the text is from the right margin. That's
the meaning of "centered."

Does your question have something to do with MSWord?

I think you need medical help - paranoia is treatable!

MVPs have no vested financial interests. They are ordinary users who give
their time and expertise for free to help people - even morons!

We would have been quite happy to assist Bo also, but he/she was just a
clown who wanted to whinge.

No one is twisting your arm to buy or use Microsoft software. There are
plenty of alternatives. But if you have a sensible question, we will be
happy to help even you.

Have a good Christmas

Hi Peter,

Re:

margin as the right edge of the text is from the right margin.

More precisely:
The left edge of centered text will be the same distance from the left
paragraph indent as the right edge of the text is from the right paragraph indent.

Visually, the left edge of centered text will be the same distance from the
left margin plus the left paragraph indent as the right edge of the text is
from the the right margin plus the right paragraph indent. If the indents are
set to negative values, this can place the text boundaries outside the margins.

True. I had originally put in something referring to his "3.03 or
2.53," which showed that he was (or wasn't?) aware of the relation
between indenting and centering, but it didn't relate to his odd
assertion about centering.
