While I was ill I was keeping up to date with American politics via YouTube - it was like a soap opera. There's a news lady called Rachel Maddow on MSNBC who gives really good explanations of what's going on and why it's relevant, and she would keep tally of the latest departures. At the start it looked kinda like this...
