Up in the North East it's only been dry for 3 full days in in 3 weeks.
But, is this part of global warming or just a bad summer we are having?

It all depends on your point of view I suppose - poor summers in the UK are nothing new, but whether that is down to any particular phenomenon is open to debate.

It wouldn't be Britain if we didn't break some weather record for any given year. ;)

Just wait till September. :D

:user:

Well the last few summers we have had we have had droughts, and dry winters.

This year we had a very wet winter and now a very wet summer.

IMO, it is just the mother nature balancing it out.

Chances are we could be in for an Idian Summer which would be nice ;)

Lovely here to day and yesterday just a little cloudy. I guess things can change tho :(

People talk of Global warming.

But if you study weather conditions since a history was kept of it, you'll see there have always been extreme weather conditions, oddities and anomalies.

Nothing's changed, as Potguy said it's just Mother Nature, she does just what she pleases and will not comply to our perceived season weather conditions.

And to get philosophical on yo booties: 'We don't own the earth, the earth owns us' ;)

...And looking on the bright side, at least our crunchers are not over-heating in a heatwave this year, and those of us Crunchmeisters who normally wilt when the temp rises above 70 C have been able to keep going too... I've got a half-re-decorated kitchen to prove it  ..... just taking one of many tea/coffee breaks - well, it helps to keep the paint-rollering wrist supple :p

We can change the earth, but eventually the earth just sorts iteself out by counteracting the changes we have caused.

And it does that by making it uninhabitable and wiping us out.

Global warming undoubtedly exists, because it does anyway in the earth's natural cycle. And if we speed it up, then the cycle will simply happen faster. That means that we, who are still in an ice age, will come to the end of that ice age quicker, with the added problen of having a big crack in the ozone layer so it happens even quicker and we get even hotter.

The earth will outlive any species on it.
