The video device is currently in use

I get this error when trying to get video from a Sony DCR-TRV80E connected
using USB.

I cannot seem to find a way to get MM to work with this video camera. I
would appreciate pointers from others on how to get it to work.

I uninstalled the software that came with the camera because it did not work
and I refuse to install WINASPI

I seam to remember answering this question only a day or so back, was it
you who asked then? If so have you been to the location I provided and
obtained the driver for your camera?

Have you been in touch with the manufacturer for your product and checked
their web site for camera specific updates?

If WINASPI has been recommended elsewhere as the solution to your problem,
why are you refusing to take that advice?
 
WINASPI, this is like installing software from the 70s. I had massive
problems with this code all through the 80s.

I have the updates for the TRV80E, there is only one "patch" to make the USB
2.0 compliant, and there is no way to see if it worked.

The installation is not windows compliant, it does not show up in the
add/remove programs, etc. It is pretty poor.

I would like to know if anyone got it to work and how they did it.
