I cannot get the telephone format under special formatting for cells to work
in
Excel 2003. I have it set for US and have tried the same formatting in
Custom. Both return a number something like this: (3) 60-8744 when I input
3608744444. Any help?

(000) 000-0000 -> input 123456789 then (012) 345-6789

think its more perfect
(?00) 000-0000 -> input 123456789 then ( 12) 345-6789
or
?00-000-0000 -> input 123456789 then 12-345-6789
?00-000-0000 -> input 0123456789 then 012-345-6789

tks n goodLuck
