I am getting this error whether i leave my lotus notes on
or turn it off.

I tried reinstalling lotus notes but still the error
appears. and everytime it appears, anything related to
TCP/IP does not work. e.g browsing, ping.

I need to logoff or restart to get it back on.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

thanks

You probably want to include OS version,
service pack, and the application relevevant
versions etc.

If the IP stack is blowing up then it is almost
certainly an bug in the OS (AND a bug in the
application) unless Notes is installed as a
service or otherwise privileged to interact
with the operating system.

(The OS should be able to defend itself from
ordinary "bad apps".)

im running Win2k sp4 and Lotus notes release 6. Domino
server is also running version 6. This started when i
upgraded the LN version from 5 to 6.

I also ran spybot, MS antispyware but nothing came up.

Any ideas?

It sounds like a Notes problem and I would
concentrate on searching Notes sites and
asking on newsgroups.

This is not something that happens on most
servers although it might be worth also searching
the MS site too, Google something like:

[ 2000 "lotus notes" "tcp/ip" site:microsoft.com ]

Althought the exact error (key) words and/or
error number would give a better chance.

By the way that search above is mostly plagued by
TOO MANY hits....although eliminating "exchange"
hits helps (probably too much):

[ 2000 "lotus notes" "tcp/ip" site:microsoft.com -exchange ]

So trying web wide gets a LOT (again):

[ 2000 "lotus notes" "tcp/ip" microsoft: -exchange ]

You probably need the real error message (key words)
and/or error code.

If people would always post the accurate messages
they would often get much better or faster help....

Thanks, ill try that. I will let you know if i found the
cause.

Please do -- someone else might benefit and
if it is a (unreported) MS bug they will want
to write a KB article if it can be repeated.
