The site won't let me go !!

Me again.

When you visit some web site and when you click on back
button or close button, it pop up again or another page
pop up. Looks like it doesn't want to go away. Is there
any way to prevent this?

This is another annoying thing. You're in a particular
web site. When you click on one of the links (to another
page of the same site), it might be open in the same
window or a new one. I know the site can do that at the
time the pages were created. But can I set my browser so
that it always open in the same window?
