The Sims 2 Installation

I have had the Sims 2 on my computer before without any problems. I'm trying
to install it again, and receive the following error:
Faulting application EReg.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module EReg.exe,
version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0000ce77.
Please help!
 
Hi Meg,

Do you have this product installed?:
http://www.nuance.com/omnipage/

If so, apparantly it's causing a conflict during the installation.
You should be able to shutdown that software from it's tray icon.
Once you have done so, please try installing your SIMS game.
