Good Morning:

The scroller of the touch pad of my laptop doesn't work after I
install a mouse driver. So when I did not take that mouse with me, it
is very incovenient for me to work with touch pad.

I tried to fix the problem, but it doesn't work. Could you give me
some suggestions?

Thank you very much,

What mouse do you have that requires and additional driver (USB or PS/2 ?) -
the majority of non-specialist mice work with the Windows standard drivers.
Did you try the mouse before installing the driver? If so, then remove the
driver and return things to the way they were.

Synaptic touchpad drivers sometimes disable 'advanced' features such as
scrolling if a second pointing device is detected. This is by design to
avoid conflicts.

As Dave mentioned, it might disable feature when a 2nd
pointing device is connected. Otherwise, try installing the
mouse driver first then the touch pad driver... or in this
case since you have the mouse driver installed already,
install the touchpad driver again.

You could just not install the mouse driver. If you just install the
Synaptics touchpad driver, both will work, and you'll retain all the
features of the touchpad when the mouse isn't plugged in. Your
mouse's extra features won't be accessible, but it'll usually work as
a generic scroll mouse (assuming it has a wheel).
