Hi:
I formatted the first (Primary) partition [L:\] on a second HDD and
installed Vista Beta 2.
I am now dual booting (earlier Windows is XP Pro SP2) and all is ok.

To uninstall Vista Beta2 and return my system to the exact state it
was in before
Vista Beta2, what must I do?

Any tips on what to be careful with?

Just format L: from within XP Pro and the dual boot screen is removed?

Something tells me it isn't that simple.

TIA,

You are going to have to edit the boot files for XP, also. Try VistaBootPro
or EasyBCD, as both come recommended in this newsgroup.

I did this the following way, no mucking around with vista boot pro of easy
bcd...
boot to XP recovery console (either using installation cd or boot menu for
XP if you installed it - optional)
use the 'fixboot %1' command where %1 is your primary partition where xp is
installed.
Reboot the PC and the vista bootloader will be gone and replaced by the old
XP one.
Now just boot to XP and format the vista partition.

*Note* to use recovery console you must know the admin password of your xp
installation.
