The REAL answer to Limited user woes?

XP does not allow limited users to use Administrator installed programs
period. The Administrator has to install everything therefore the limited
user gets very few programs that will run PROPERLY for them. Supposedly
newer programs are running PROPERLY for them. Apparently OE 6 has not been
set up PROPERLY yet.

That's grossly incorrect. Applications properly designed for use on
WinXP can readily be used by normal users, without elevated privileges.

Which is an essential security feature. I wouldn't have an OS where
such a safeguard mechanism isn't in place.

Again, that's completely wrong. Either your applications are not
WinXP-compatible, or someone is selecting the option offered by many to
install for a single user only.

The program's age has little to do with it, actually. Even programs
that were properly designed for WinNT and Win2k, years ago, will run on
WinXP.

That's an even more absurd claim. Rather than spouting such nonsense
in an inappropriate newsgroup, why don't you try posting a clear,
detailed description of any problems you're having with OE to one of the
OE newsgroups?

Here's the solution that worked for me! Thanks to Jim:

Have no real idea why unless there is some problem with permissions and the
WAB file. For simplicity try creating a new WAB file in the LUA (limited
user account) by clicking Start/Run and type: WAB /new and give it a name
and location to store it at. Make sure the LUA has permission to read/write
to the file. Alter the registry at this key to indicate the new WAB file is
the default WAB file for the account:

Close OE and the address book. Run regedit.exe and navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4\Wab File Name

Right-click on (Default) in the right-hand pane and enter your new path to
the *.wab file. Close Regedit and open OE to use the new *.wab immediately.

Post back if that does not fix the problem.
