the projector remote

We have a Dell 1100MP Projector and the remote works (volume, menu etc.) but
it will not advance the Powerpoint slides when i hit the "Next Page" button.

The powerpoint was created in Powerpoint 2003. Is there a setting in the
Powerpoint itself that i have to select so that it will advance to the next
page via the remote?

Is the presentation set up to run in Kiosk mode? If so, PowerPoint will ignore
all keyboard input except for the ESC key. If the projector mimics a
pageup/pagedown or arrowkey keystrokes to do the advance normally, this'd
probably put the kibosh on it.

As a test, try SlideShow, Set Up Show and change it from Kiosk to "Presented by
a speaker (full screen)"
