Why did the video last so long? It could have been done in 30
seconds. The video just shows, for five minutes, a guy in a sci-fi
chair that is piston driven up and down like in expensive IMAX
theatres in response to video. They have one of these chairs actually
in Sydney, Australia (I've been on it). You sit down, and as you
watch the IMAX film on AU the chair moves up, down, sideways. It's a
a room (theatre) full of such chairs--in Sydney's tallest building.
But you move not as much as shown in this video--just 10 cm or so.
It's synched with the film, so when an AU rugby player runs into the
camera, you feel a jolt from the chair (pretty strong too) like he ran
into you. Pretty cool but they need to get the price down before you
can have one in your living room.
