The Perfect System Board
(as of yesterday)

Intel Chipset: 865PE/875P
CPU FSB: 400/533/800
up to 3.6GHz +
DDR Memory: PC2100-PC3700
up to 2GB
Standard IDE controller
33/66/100/133 supporting 4 IDE devices
Standard Floppy controller
Accelerated Graphic Controller 2x/4x/8x
PATA/SATA controller
4 IDE HDD 100/133
Raid
4x USB 2.0/1.1 connectors
up to 8 USB devices
1x IEEE 1394 (Firewire) connector
Intergrated 10/100/1000 BaseT NIC
NO intergrated Audio
NO intergrated Video

* If audio has to be intergrated, must have a line in, headphone jack,
speaker jack, and mic jack.*
***** A MUST*****

This is for those like myself that know exactly what they want/need in a
system but motherboard manufacturers just can seem to get it right. I
understand that a person or business just can please everybody... Why can't
they keep it somewhat simple as far as over packing a system board. Those
of us PC 'geeks' / professionals have a predetermined idea if what to put in
a system but very seldom can find the right motherboard with to get started.
Intergrated motherboards are for the beginner and the lazy. Those are for
people who like PnP. Meaning, mount the board, plug things up and away you
go.

The motherboard I have now is great. Although not what I was looking for but
the closest thing I could find with quality. The only minor bug is the fact
that there is a line in, line out and a mic jack but no headphone jack on
the onboard audio... More and more people have speakers and headphones in
use on systems now.

Call me picky, but that's the type of motherboard I would purchase compated
to a system board with a lot of extra stuff that I will have no need.

No serial ports, no parallel ports
1 1394 connection on backpanel, 1 on mobo for front connection
SATA Raid 0, 1, 0+1 (can't tell if you meant that)
IDE Raid should work in normal IDE mode and with devices other than HDs

Intergrated audio might not be a bad thing if it is good and doesn't load
the CPU..

Intergrated video is a big NO-NO!
