The PDF into Word question

You can copy/paste from a .pdf directly into Word. I've found the results to
be faster and more reliable than using the scansoft product... not to
mention the fact that it's free, and doesn't require installing yet another
piece of software.

I have Acrobat 5 professional. How do I copy/paste a pdf document? have
tried to open the document with Word 2000 without success.

I also have Acrobat 5 professional. Have tried copying and
pasting from PDF w/o success. Windows XP and Word 2003.

The ability to copy and paste from a PDF file is controlled by the security
settings applied to that document. When the security is all encompassing,
translation tools will not work unless the password is known and then the
only solution is to print the document (if allowed) and scan the result into
OCR software. If not allowed then you need a scrolling screen capture tool
such as the excellent SnagIt.

I have found that sometimes you can circumvent the security on a PDF file if
you Email the PDF to yourself. I use the File|Send to| function and then
the PDF seems to be able to copy and pasted into a Word Doc.
