The page cannot be displayed

I cannot get my IE to open any web pages. I can use AOL
and play multiplayer games so my internet is obviously
working but when I try to view ANY page on IE it gives
me "The page cannot be displayed" message. It bothers me
because I can't use my IE. I have Win XP Home edition, if
any one can please help I have read some other posts with
a similar problem.
