I have tried everything I can possibly think of. Including
checking my network settings, checking security settings,
and clearing my caches (thanks Dell Support team). About a
week ago, my computer just quit loading certain web pages.
And it'll give me "We can't find..." and "The page cannot
be displayed..." messages. ALTHOUGH, when I get on the
OTHER computer in my network, the pages load just fine.
And NOW, it seems like it's starting to "affect" more web
pages. Ones I could view FINE last week now won't load for
me at ALL. I'm really at the end of my rope here.

This article - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?
scid=kb;en-us;818139 - looks like it may be of some help,
but it tells me to contact Microsoft to get the patch.
Then when I try to email Microsoft, the web page won't let
me, wants me to call my computer manufacturer (yeah,
they're a BIG help) or wants me to pay to call.

Anyone have any idea?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have installed some "Internet accelerator" software. If so,
remove it. That will prevent the problem from getting worse.

Now to solve your immediate issue, search your hd for a file named HOSTS (no
extension, and may be hidden). If found, open it in a text editor such as
Notepad and delete any lines containing domain names (sites) that you are
currently unable to display. Save the file, then rerun your test and see if
the problem persists. The only entry that *needs* to be in that file is:
127.0.0.1 localhost # loopback

Alright. I don't have any accelerator software installed
and I checked out my HOSTS files and none of them have
anything other than the 127 address.

So weird.

A public domain with a 127 ip address in HOSTS will cause this problem.
