Can not view any reports in any database using Access 2003 on my laptop only.
Sometimes receive an error message above, most of the time - nothing. Tried
everything I could think of, but re-imaging my laptop (re-installed Office
2003 Pro many times, even tried deleting my domain profile in XP Pro). I am a
network technician, have a lot of software on my laptop, would be very time
consuming to re-image. Could not view reports even on another PC using Remote
Deskop???
Never seen anything like this. Could not tell what changed, I use lots of
applications very havily on daily basys. Thank you.

Do you have a Default Printer set up? If so, are the reports set to use a
specific printer that you don't have installed and/or aren't connected to
instead of the default?

Thank you so much for such quick reply. I do have a network printer setup as
my default printer, and have no problem printing to it. As soon as I read
your reply, I installed the same network printer as a local one printing
through TCP/IP port (to bypass the print server), and viewed and printed
reports just fine!! WOW!
My question though is what's wrong with network printer? Why Access doesn't
see it? Appreciate your help very much!

As long as you're connected to the network, the network printer should work
fine with Access, assuming it works ok for other things. However, if you
disconnect from the network, you would then have a problem. The local
printer will allow the reports to continue to work, even if the printer
isn't currently available.

I think I can live with it, but was just curious why this happens only on my
laptop (I setup a test desktop in my office with the same software and the
same network printer and have no problem with reports??), not to mention that
a whole IT department uses the same database and the same network printer.
Thank you very much, again! You do know your stuff! LOL
