The "Open With" list

How can I delete items from the "Open With" list?
I have discovered how to add, but now need to delete some.

Each file type has an entry in the registry for its list. For example:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg\OpenWithList
 
Mark, Ramesh, Thank you both very much indeed. I now have all my
associations sorted and your information filed away.
I used Erunt.exe to back up the Registry.
