It did not work when i copied it to the HD either. Any
other suggestions?

I have a very strange problem with my XP
When I try to install a game from a cd this message is
shown: "Error 1311.Source file not found:
E:\language.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you
can access it"
The file does exist in E:\language.cab
The file is also accessable

The program does not let me select the file it is
requesting. the only option I have is to press ok and the
installation is terminated and this message is shown:
"Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation. Consult
windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more
information"

None of my friends has ever experienced this problem and
I can not seem to find a solution of the problem.
I have tried everything, different cd's etc, different CD
drivers etc.
I have never experienced any problems at all with XP
regarding the installation of any other program.

What Shall i do?
If I can not find an answer in this forum, who shall I
ask my question to? How do I contact Microsoft, do they
have an e-mail adress for their cosatumers when they have
problems or what?

Please help

There is a general problem with installing software that is caused by
a local security policy problem. Usually, copying the files to the HD
will get around it. However, in some cases, including multi-CD
installs, the copying part will not help. It does, however, rule out
the bad media part.

For a problem with the same symptoms, MS had a knowledge base article
that discusses the registry change for fixing the security policy
issue.

You need to modify a setting in the Registry. Change the value for the
key allocatecdroms under the branch
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon to 0.

THEN REBOOT!

I won't go into how to do this, but if you don't know how you can read
up on registry changes and all the standard disclaimers about how it
can mess up your system if you do it wrong.

The bottom line is that it has to do with the local security policy
causing the computer to think that it does not have permission. A
google search on "Error 1311" and registry will tell you more.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM PLS HELP
