I'm sorry to report that the MJW has some serious issues with Bonkit ... the 'problems' seem to have started ever since the introduction of the new WUs, though I cannot be 100% sure on this as I have had to restart the PC on numerous occasions.

I've been battling with the Old Girl & MJW trying to keep them working and will be taking drastic actions on both PCs today ... I'll be re-installing the OS on both.

It is especially saddening that the MJW PC has been very erratic with returns, and, unbeknown to me stopped working around 3am this morning.

I do not have any alternative but to use Linux, as I am not willing to shell out anymore for MS products, and cannot really afford the money either.

I hope to have them both running by the days' end and will keep a closer eye on MJW in the future.

As a side note ... to say I am not a very happy chappie is a bit of an understatement ... with that in mind don't anybody cross me today, I AIN'T IN THE MOOD.

Is MJW running Linux or Windows now?
Was Windows ... hopefully by the end of the day, Linux.

I have an old second HD in the Old Girl with Linux and was dual-booting Vista ... that will be removed & Linux put back on the main drive. ;)

Pity your not on this side of the Pond. I have enough spare parts from pulls here to equip 5 or 6 units.

As a side note... I took the advantage of my shut down to upgrade my 2 units to Intel 930's retiring all the AMD processors to the pull bin. At 210.00 CDN for a 930 I coudnt resist.

Can i help

Am searching the net Mucks ...found this probably useless but who knows ??
Suspending work fetch because computer is overcommitted"

My "show graphics" button froze over & died.

I encountered your question, in fact, while looking for an answer to my own..

For what it's worth, I noted that in the text area of the BOINC manager, in the "TASKS" tab, there were now 2 entries, where there had only been one previously..

As soon as I highlighted that second entry in the text area, the problem went away...

I had the same problem about three weeks ago, this is what I did; On the task column> I Aborted all the jobs> Projects updated> closed down Bionc> reboot PC> and away it went Crunching like hell as you can see by my returns.
Hope this helps Mucks;) [It worked for me]

Sorry Mucks - been out most of the weekend and only just seen this.

One thing I notice is that the date/time is out, it shows 01 August..
Tue 01 Aug 2006 18:32:31 BST|World Community Grid|Task faah0659_d433cb104_x1hpv_01_1 is 23.32 days overdue.
I assume the date/time refers to the PC's clock time - could this be the reason why that unit thinks its 23 days overdue?

This would probably account for the entry about being overcommitted - if boinc reports back that you have overdue units, the server won't allow further units to by downloaded.

I must admit I have had problems with some of the new HPF units - I'm not sure whether its to do with us using the enhancement - what may be in order is to re-install Boinc without using the enhancement and see how it goes - frankly in 99% of the cases the enhancement doesn't really help much due to the other two results being lower anyway.

Thats all I can come up with at the moment - but I will look further into it :thumb:

Which projects are you crunching?
Any of them ... always have.

Sorry itsme ... done that for nearly a day now and each time it says ...

It don't matter what I do ... the "computer" in the eyes of WCG & Bonkit says I have too much work ... despite the fact that It don't have any, they, think I have. :(

I haven't ever reset the "Old Girl" back up yet ... so I am a PC short too.
