Problem in Outlook 2000. PC with XP

I created a new account in outlook express to keep a
separate email account from the account that I have in
Outlook 2000. When I created the account , the contacts
were brought in to outlook express from outlook 2000.
since those contacts were from other account, i deleted
them from outlook express--doing this deleted them from
both outlook express and outlook 2000.

I need to retore my contacts in Outlook 2000. When I add
I get
"the messaging interface has returned an unknown error,
if problem persists restart outlook."

I have rebooted but that didn't help.
I have my contacts backed up in a .CSV but OUTLOOK 2000
won't import the contacts either now (no error but
nothing uploads, I used the same .csv to import in the
past successfully but since this error cannot import
either). Looked on the message board and saw mention
of .pst or .pab but I have no such files. I am on a pc,
no server involved...

thanks

This doesn't fit. OE can't import from Outlook. How were your Contacts
"brought into Outlook Express?" How did you delete them? You could not have
deleted the contents of your Outlook Contacts Folder from Outlook Express.
You need to post your mail support mode of Outlook 2000 (line 2 of Help |
About, if you don't know) and whether you had enabled Contact sharing
between Outlook and Outlook Express.
