Not lurgy, but sore throat since sunday morning . Ultra Chloraseptic is a modern miracle medicine though :thumb:

Fine here :D Not had a cold or anything for a while now - I think being a student at uni is like rolling around in the mud when you are little. Yeah, you might catch a few things to start off with - but you become immune by the end! In the first year, everyone at uni seems to catch "freshers flu" - as there are so many people from all over the world in a tiny place.

Its going round!!

You've hit one one of my pet hates there Chris ;) People always say "its going round" when anyone is ill, there is always something being passed around

Not as bad as when someone says "its always in the last place you look" when you've lost something. I don't often continue looking for something when I've found it, so that saying is always true. :p

haha!

Well it's true theres always something going round but i guess when people say its going round its when a bunch of people you know have it

yeah ive had it and it has been going around school quite alot about half the year was there the other week so it is going around:thumb:

So what is going around? South Yorkshire seems very healthy at the moment (fingers crossed + touch wood)!!

Gabs xx

There's something unpleasant doing the rounds down here in the Islands.

Several of the schools reporting big absences from classes (well they claim it's because of the bug, but the kids might be profiteering again!), and loads of my mates have been coughing and spluttering for a few weeks now.

I'm recovering from my quota, but being male it was full blown flu not just an incidental cold :D

*CI ducks just in case someone starts lobbing the bottle of cough mixture in his direction*

Keep in on the island and elsewhere please - the North are well at the moment!!

Gabs xx

That ain't the flu, that just a bad cold

If you had flu, you'd know it.

Or more likely, you wouldn't know it, you'd be almost feverish.

People who say they've got the flu when they haven't are kind of an irritation to me - wusses :p

Seriously, flu knocks you for six, I don't actually think I've ever had it, but tonsilitis comes close, and I've had that - slept for 56 hours solid.

Yeah, that be a cold alright... the mega temp & the achey joints thing are the best way to distinguish between a flu & a cold... asides from that... well the bugs mutate so often it can be hard to tell sometimes if it's a heavy cold or a mild flu. If you're finding that you have to hold the walls up whenever you get out of bed then it's probably the flu... If you find yourself aching all over, headachy, nauseous, experiencing profound mental confusion, poor balance & blurred vision, however, then It's most likely that your wallet's empty & you owe your local pub a lot of money for some new furniture... ;)

Nevertheless, a stink cold aint a fun time. Get yourself some coldrex & stock up on tissues. You'll be in for a long haul.

Any Radio 1 listener would know that Man Flu is another term for the common cold :D

Ah, okey dokey, I am now educated ;)

Haven't listened to Radio One for a couple of months now, been listening mostly to XFM or plain old CD's.
