The little box under the "x"

Since my father installed some programmes from the
business he previously worked for, the little box
underneath the "x" which used to display the IE logo now
displays the Virgin.net symbol and the 'online support'
under "help" takes me to the virgin.net help pages.

My father has now retired and is accessing the internet
through a different ISP other than Virgin.net, we were
wondering whether it is possible to remove this erroneous
association/hijack.

I suspect it might be something to do with the registry,
since it seems to be a component of some sort not IE
itself, however neither of us know sufficient about
computers to go meddling about in the registry so if
anyone knows of similar incidents or has the solution to
removing Virgin.net from our computer and restoring our
current ISP's associations, we would be very grateful to
hear from you.

Cheers,

R + T Healy.
